Track lighting is one of the most commonly used and allows you to configure a lighting scheme that's custom made to meet your unique, individual needs. You can choose from any options that are available, including halogen track lighting, which provides bright light from small fixtures.
Track lighting is perfect for highlighting artwork, collections or architectural details,
and it can also provide general or task illumination for an entire room. One can move
the heads around, add more, change types, point them in different directions, and so
on.
The first step in any electrical project is to turn off the power to the circuit where you'll
be working. At the circuit box, turn off the circuit breaker switch that controls the
circuit you'll be working on.
You can attach the track first and install the wiring later if you have easy access to the
wiring above the ceiling. It is a powerful tool for a lighting designer but application can
also be rather confusing without an understanding of some basic track lighting
principles. Because track lighting is very directional, track systems perform best as
accent lights or task lights.

A standard-voltage track light is the easiest type to install in most situations. But you
can choose from many types of fixtures, bulbs, and tracks. If you want low-voltage
lighting, which is more energy efficient, consider buying fixtures that are fitted with
low-voltage transformers.
